The ARC - Air Race Championship is a unique and never before seen event. ARC is an air race with a difference, a new concept that emerged after a thorough study of the existing aeronautical races and competitions. The race will be based on the famous Reno Air Races, which have been thrilling crowds for more than 50 years in the U.S.A, where qualified pilots have to fly a counter clockwise circuit with specific aerobatic manoeuvres, therefore mixing the best of wing-to-wing air racing and against the clock.

The ARC - Air Race Championship will combine the best of the greatest international races, in a unique event where the sound of an aircraft flying at 350 km/h and 30 meters above sea level, surpasses ones expectations, giving the public the opportunity to see a live air race that combines competition and aerobatics.

Portugal was the country chosen for the first event in July 2014, and with the huge success obtained was a launch pad for a championship series which will continue at international level in 2019, with races in prestigious worldwide circuits.

After the Lisbon Air Race 2016, Ponte de Sor will host one more Air Race show case integrated in the Portugal AIR SUMMIT 2018.

This will announce the upcoming global international championship season where several cities around the globe will be joining the ARC to complete an amazing worldwide circuit for the 2019/2020 season, where more than 20 pilots will compete in three categories – Extreme, Vintage and Sport - for the title.
